The Skinnies Story
It all started on a road trip looking at universities for our daughters. As we were sitting at family dinner, my husband Mario had just finished a project and was looking for the next venture. The question of the night was:
What’s next for you, Dad? One of the girls said, “Why don’t you do the zero sugar mixers that Mom always wanted”
So, the journey began and one idea led to another. I had always made my drinks with diet powered mixers to keep the calories and sugars down. But always wanted a healthier option with no aspartame or artificial ingredients, and flavors that truly taste like cocktails. Our ideal mixer would be light, not overpowering and with just the right balance. And with love and passion, and a little patience, the recipe for Skinnies was born in our Miami kitchen. We reached out to a close group of family and friends to invest, and the RSVP Skinnies brand and business came to be.
Skinnies are made with fruits and plant-based ingredients, minus the sugars, plus a hint of stevia and erythritol (from plants). We started with four flavors; the Cranberry Twist for the Vodka & Soda drinker, the Mai Tai for the rum lover (Ani), the Baja Margarita, and the Lem’n Lime to mix with Gin & Club Soda. We’ve continued to create other flavors inspired by friends and fans of Skinnies which are amazing. We always joke that “if you don’t like’em sweet, just add more vodka”, but all kidding aside, one of the great things about Skinnies is that you mix them to your taste. And when you aren’t in the mood for alcohol, you can just mix them with sparkling or still water and enjoy them as mocktails.
